FunkyTown Donuts

FunkyTown Donuts retail space provides a modern, compact space on a limited budget for the client’s unique handcrafted donuts.

The 583 s.f. tenant finish out is divided into the kitchen and customer service area by a custom display counter, made of edge-banded plywood with plastic laminate accents. The vertical fins are lit from behind, which glows during the shop’s early morning hours.

The vivid color scheme was inspired by the glazes and sprinkles used in crafting the donuts.  A turquoise ribbon flows through the space, representing the process of making donuts. The ribbon starts as exterior facing signage above the front door. It drops down to become an entry ceiling, then darts past the list of the day’s donuts selections turns quickly to provide a place to hang lighting above the counter, turning again to provide a beverage area, and finally ends in a dining counter back at the entry.
